Unit Mounting Options for Thermoelectric Air Conditioners

EIC Solutions, Inc. offers a selection of mounting options to best fit your application. Click through to view the different options available. The drawings are for reference purposes only, the thermoelectric air conditioners have varying footprints based on model. Please refer to individual model features to determine if there is space for mounting. We recommend a minimum of 2” of clearance for airflow between the air conditioner and equipment.

Through-mount

Through mount is the most common mounting option. The mounting flange is centered in the middle of the air conditioner resulting in approximately half of the air conditioner protruding into your enclosure (cold side) and half of the unit sitting on the outside of the enclosure (hot side). This is suitable for both vertical and horizontal orientations.

  • Though mount units will protrude into your enclosure approximately 4-5” depending on model.
  • Vertically orientated through mounted AC’s require a verticaldrip panfor condensation management.
  • Horizontally orientated units require a horizontaldrip panfor condensation management.
  • The 120 series (200 BTU), 151 series (2500 BTU) and 161B series (3500 BTU) use an integral drip pan in vertical orientation.
  • Through mount units are suitable for both vertical and horizontal orientations.

Flush-mount

Flush mount refers to the air conditioner sitting completely on the outside of the enclosure resulting innoprotrusioninto the enclosure. It is ideal for applications that cannot allow protrusion within the enclosure due to space constraint or equipment interference. Flush mounting is suitable for both vertical and horizontal orientations.

  • Flush mount units will not protrude inside the enclosure.
  • 单位要求an扩展框架to achieve a flush mount. (except the 120 series 200 BTU which has a separate flush-mount version)
  • The extension frame serves as adrip panfor flush mounted units in a vertical orientation.
  • A horizontal drip pan is required for flush mounted units in a horizontal orientation.

Recessed Mount

Recessed mount is when the entire air conditioner is housed inside of the enclosure resulting innoprotrusion on theoutsideof the enclosure. This is best for applications where the space around the enclosure is limited or the air conditioner’s external protrusion could interfere with the aesthetics of an enclosure. Recessed-mounting is suitable for垂直方向only.

  • All recessed mount AC units protrude entirely inside the enclosure.
  • 单位要求arecessed frameto achieve a recessed mount.
  • A vertical drip pan is required for condensate management except the 120 series (200 BTU), 151 series (2500 BTU) and 161B series (3500 BTU) which use an integral drip pan.
  • Recessed mount AC units are only suitable for mounting in vertical orientation.

Vertical Orientation

Refers to the air conditioner being mounted to a vertical plane with the mounting flange oriented vertically from top to bottom. Air conditioners can be mounted to the sides, front, or rear of enclosure when in vertical orientation.

  • 单位要求a verticaldrip panor扩展框架for condensation management.
  • The 120 series (200 BTU), 151 series (2500 BTU) and the 161B series (3500 BTU) use integral vertical drip pans.
  • Vertical orientation is the only mounting option for the 120 series (200 BTU) and 140 series (400 BTU (DC)) series.
  • Vertically orientated units are suitable for through, flush, or recessed mounting.

Horizontal Orientation (Top)

Refers to the air conditioner being mounted horizontally to the top of enclosure with the mounting flange oriented parallel to the ground. Units cannot be mounted horizontally on the bottom of an enclosure due to possible condensation management issues.

  • 单位要求a horizontaldrip panfor condensation management.
  • The 120 series (200 BTU) and 140 series (400 BTU (DC)) series cannot be mounted horizontally
  • Horizontally orientated units are suitable for through or flush mounted units only.
